We use Box to store our sales collateral, agreements, videos, etc., which allows us to collaborate with one another regardless of whether we're in the same office or on the other side of the world. I believe their tagline is "Access your data anywhere, anytime, and from any device," and that's the truth. As long as you have Internet connectivity you have access to everything stored in Box, and if you know you're going to be somewhere without Internet, you can download what you'll need ahead of time by dragging it into your quick access folder. It's a fantastic platform, and although we're a very small company, I can easily see how a company with hundreds of employees could securely share files and collaborate in real-time.
  • Strong security in the cloud
  • Large storage limits
  • Real-time collaboration with co-workers from anywhere
  • For how we use it it's fine. I don't have any suggestions for improvement.
Box is great for secure file sharing and collaboration. However, it's not an appropriate solution to be used as an end-point back-up solution.

Box is used to backup important day to day work files across the length of my coy [company]. I tend to think our use of Box within my coy [company], has improved productivity within my organization, especially in situations where employees need to collaborate remotely. In this kind of situation, Box ensures that we always have access to much needed work files, as long as we can connect to the internet. In select departments within my coy [company], like the marketing department where I work, Box is integrated with internal workflow process, thus resulting in the automation and faster completion of regular day to day simple yet effective tasks such as scheduling events, requesting file access, etc.
  • Basic task automation
  • File storage
  • File collaboration
  • Integrations
  • Box on web browser is not intuitive.
  • Box does not make it convenient to share files with non-Box users.
In my own experience so far with Box, it is well suited for file storage activities, automation of basic day to day task, security of files ( our IT engineers regularly attest to the level of security within the Box platform) and integration with tools from other vendors for maximized productivity. These are some specific areas where Box does a fantastic job.

Its the tool I use to sync files between my computer and the cloud to make them available whenever needed and to make sure they are never outdated. Any changes I make to files in one device are reflected on all other devices. Streamlines the file sharing process throughout the different offices no matter how far they are physically.
  • Multiple people can do concurrent edits and revisions to a document
  • Reduces the risk and potential loss of data caused by leakage
  • Real-time file synchronization between my computer and the Box server
  • Defining permission settings for different file viewers
  • Bigger files take much time to sync to the server
  • No option to re-order sync management
  • More filters per column to get a particular file
Something tremendous I noted about Box is files are accessed at LAN speed without being constrained by internet bandwidth when sharing with a colleague in the same office. It allows us to access all our files without consuming the storage space of office PC. When syncing huge files to the server its better to split them

BOX is a good product used for file and data sharing. It's a very easy and portable tool used to keep and share big files which can't be sent over emails.

If you are worried about you data you can back up on the cloud BOX.
  • File and data sharing via a URL.
  • Data storage over cloud.
  • File synchronization with your PC.
  • It has cross platform usage so can be used on all OS including Windows and Mac.
  • You need premium version in case you have to upload large files.
  • Mobile application edition is not that user friendly.
  • Internet connection is required to access the files.
  • Support could be a bit better.
It's well suited if you want to quickly send large file to someone else via URL link although using it as a storage is a bit difficult as you need a good and robust internet connection.

Photo sharing can be a hassle due to lack of metadata.

Box has been a great find for us over the years in dealing with other cloud storage software. It has all the amazing features to become the top-notch product in the market. Overall, Box is the best cloud managing software available in the market. Some drawbacks need to be correct but other than it is a complete package for storing information securely and safely. Moreover, it is a safe and secure collaborative platform.
  • The main feature that I like the most in Box is that it makes collaboration seamless, workers can easily check the documents any time and make changes according to the needs.
  • Box manages and backs up all of your files on its cloud servers, and provides a very nice interface for creating, viewing, editing, and collaborating on the most commonly used file types (PDF, XLS, DOC, etc.).
  • Over the past few years, Box has built on top of its basic cloud storage management with a host of other tools, such as workflows, AI, monitoring, and analytics.
  • It is helping us to make good connections with clients and our workers themselves as to its syncing and viewing feature to all is very much helpful and easy to go.
  • The platform becomes slow while dealing with large files.
  • It becomes slow and takes a lot of hardware used to run all operations effectively.
  • Storage usually depends on the pricing at the early stages which can be upgraded by paying the amount which is a big problem of losing customers.
I would recommend this robust and automated platform to all organizations to use as the main storage platform which is providing unlimited uploads and unlimited storage for storing the files document. A secure and safe platform is the plus point of it. It gives a wide platform for keeping everything secure.

It has all the features to become the main part of any organization, a quick and easy-to-use dashboard makes it more effective. Box is one of the most advanced and secure platforms available, dealing with the entire content life cycle and retention. It has an amazing feature of co-editing, signature, and classification with cloud availability. A secure and easy-to-use platform that can easily be usable in the organization.
  • Being a cloud software I can assess to any document online anywhere by just connecting to the internet.
  • The main feature which I like the most as it integrates to tech-stack across all of the breed apps. Integration of Box is amazing.
  • I have a lot of software already in my organization which we are using to handle different processes in the organization, box easily gets integrated with other tools.
  • Another great feature that I like the most and using every day is their online cloud storage which gives unlimited storage to store all kinds of information efficiently.
  • There is not a good system available to save the document easily while you are making changes.
  • All of the big files need to be compressed under 10 GB to upload in the cloud storage which is a big problem and hindrance in the work.
  • If other persons are making changes in the same file at the same time it will automatically neglect your changes to document and saves other's changes.
I would recommend this to other organizations to use Box as their primary software and make most of it. It will save more time and increase productivity which affects the whole work time. It is one of the most reliable content collaboration platforms.

It has solved many problems related to data sharing between members of the company. It is an amazing data storage option that has some great plans and pricing strategies available. Security in the platform has always been their first priority due to that the platform is solid and robust. Altogether, this tool is a very stable, safe, and secure cloud backup tool which is not only great for my organization but also for workflows and content management.
  • This is a very good storage backup with an extra feature of recognition of different types of files.
  • This platform has enhanced and increased the extent of traceability in important files and documents.
  • Unlike many other platforms, this tool has provided access to documents on a remote basis.
  • It is reliable platform that gives highly developed functionalities for the security of important data.
  • I faced this problem a very few times that the backup was only being performed of some selected files rather than complete folders.
  • The platform requires a stable and fast internet connection while using the software so that is time-consuming.
Box is one of the best Enterprise Content Management Software is out there because it is a very good storage application considered for the backing up of content. Additionally, this product is also very good and effective for sensitive files and materials that are of large sizes. The product also has applications for mobile devices and PCs that let you access files regardless of where you are.

Box is utilized by associations and undertakings chiefly as a distributed storage administration, and in this way for sharing archives, media, and other stuff on the cloud. It likewise considers imparting the substance to others and gatherings in the association just by giving them the essential consents, since greater documents will experience difficulty in transfer and send through email.
  • There is a record size limit on Box.
  • In the event that a specific record surpasses a given size, Box won’t have the option to match up the document from our PC onto their cloud worker.
  • The interface ought to give the office to do particular matching up of documents from my computer.
  • It is utilized across the association and establishes a climate where everybody can without much of a stretch offer documents in only a single tick.
  • Not incredible for utilizing as a reinforcement.
  • At the point when I required it to, it could just do particular record the executives, not whole folders.
  • I did prefer to have the option to see more substance when I utilize the work area program.
We get a lot of archives to peruse so it's not difficult to share and get reports. I additionally need to peruse a great deal of those reports over the course of the week. I regularly work with movie producers and makers across the globe, and Box empowers me to get video and send sound records without leaving my work area, which makes my business cash and advances rehash business.

Box makes collaboration seamless! With the current landscape, it's important to collaborate efficiently and Box allows teams to do just that! Overall, pleased with the software. I also like that the software offers all of the document formats that I work on and look for. I also like that there's a notifications feature that lets me know which updates have been made.
  • Ease of sharing: Extremely important when multiple people/departments are working on the same project.
  • Saves hard drive space by housing files in the cloud.
  • Getting the link to share files instantly in a single click.
  • Editing Excel words directly through the web-based app.
  • No training available.
  • Mobile app is horrible.
It's a very intuitive product. I am sure there are lots of features and functions that I am still not aware of, but the service has been easy enough to learn as I go without needing to be sent for extensive training in order to understand how to get started.

Box is used by our organization as an alternative to Google Drive. It is used by the whole organization for sharing assignments and lectures among students. It has solved problems regarding data sharing among multiple members of the organization and among students. It is an amazing data storage option with the best plans and pricing available.
  • It has provided 50 GB of massive storage option with free organizational ID.
  • User friendly interface. You can easily create folders and upload files.
  • Security is much better as compared to other alternatives.
  • Nothing much to dislike but, there are few limitations that needs improvement.
  • Requires an internet connection while accessing Box.
  • Heavy files require fast and stable internet connection.
Box is well suited for data storage and sharing but, for free users storage needs enhancement. Free users should be provided with much more storage. It is a file storage category of the tech stack. We share data among students and members to deliver our lectures more effectively and to share lectures for later usage.

Currently, Box is used across departments to share sensitive information which can be subjected to various data safety regulations. Box ensures that we exchange information as safely as possible without additional work.
  • Simple to use with user friendly interfaces
  • Ease of adding / removing users and supports multiple levels of access
  • Uploading / downloading files is fast and one step process
  • Folder structure can be difficult navigate and find what you need exactly at once
  • Shared files do not indicate current viewers / users
  • depends on internet
Box is ideal if you are sharing sensitive information ( such as patient information that should be protected under HIPAA ) with another party and the safety of the information is important.

However, if you are sharing general documents and files without any sensitive information, a general application like Google Drive would also do the job.

Box gives us the flexibility and ability to keep all of our files securely in the cloud and also make them available when needed at any time. It helps us to share documents with clients, employees and coworkers without always having to upload them to an email in order to send them, just send the Box link of the file uploaded on this platform. It makes our lives easier since it can save storage space and everything is safeguarded in the Box cloud without loss of any of the files.
  • Easy to sync all files between the cloud and internet connected devices that Box can support.
  • No cumbersome setups to use Box.
  • Uploading files is very easy with drag and drop, also when managing files within this platform.
  • It is very simple how you can safely manage your files, allowing you to select who can see each file that has been uploaded.
  • The function of creating a document within Box is not very useful since they do not have the same functions as Office, so it is better to create or edit and then upload to this platform.
  • Sometimes it takes awhile to preview a file, no matter what type of internet connection you have.
  • They should create plans that only update improvements that are needed, such as the capacity or weight of a file to be uploaded.
Box is simply an almost-complete solution to everything that has to do with storing and managing files in the cloud. The truth is that the prices adapt to the type of person or company that needs your services. It is very practical and easy to use so I fully trust this platform.

Box is used company-wide to share and collaborate on research projects, education-related documents, and work assignments. Many projects involve multiple employees and require the input of multiple people. Box is a very easy-to-use resource that permits this level of teamwork to occur. Each employee has access to their own Box account,
  • Seamless integration with Microsoft Office. Users can upload any Microsoft document (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and share it with other users. From the Box, one can access Microsoft online which allows the user to make changes and have them update in real-time within the Box.
  • Simple and easy to organize. Box has reasonable customization options while not overwhelming the average user. It is easy to organize files and share entire folders or individual documents with other employees.
  • Secure. Box can be integrated into a company's secure log-in service such as a two-factor authentication requirement.
  • There have been times when changes are made to an online Microsoft Excel sheet, for example, and the modifications aren't immediately reflected in the Box version of the document. This has been rare but has occurred nonetheless.
  • This is not necessarily a drawback but users should be aware that in order to edit a Microsoft file, for example, they must open the Box file and then make one extra step to open this document on the Microsoft Online website.
Box is well suited for projects on which a smaller handful of individuals are working on the same project at the same time. I can imagine that for files that require the input of many individuals, Box file editing and sharing may run slower than desirable. Box will help seamlessly integrate desktop applications like Microsoft Office with online editing and collaboration capability.

At our company, we use Box to manage our sensitive files. We use another cloud server for our day-to-day documents but needed a separate account/location where we keep our files that we do not want our employees to have access to. Since we could only have one location of our other platform, Box was the perfect solution. We use Box on two desktop computers and 2 mobile devices.
  • Syncs quickly across devices.
  • Allows for a variety of organizational methods for files and folders.
  • Allows for multiple device integration.
  • Has the ability to login through the internet or access files on your computer or mobile device.
  • Various pricing plans to meet needs based on space and users.
  • Needs a quick link to see attached devices.
Box is an amazing platform - the more I have used it, the more I like it! It is well suited for personal and/or business use. It works well for small companies with teams less than 20. I feel it may be hard to manager for large teams that all need to access the same files. External collaborators are a great feature for teams - allowing selective access to folders as needed. The cost is very reasonable!

I have used Box in the past and still use it on occasion to store documents and files such as invoices, receipts, expense reports, marketing materials, etc. Box, like other cloud storage platforms, allows me to access my important files on the go and also gives me the peace of mind knowing I will not lose my information should something happen to my physical computers.
  • The mobile app is user-friendly on iOS so it is easy to access your files.
  • Box reads/opens just about any file on mobile and if it does not, it allows you to open the file in another application through iOS prompt.
  • Box provides a lot of storage at reasonable prices.
  • Larger files such as audio or video files seem to load slower on Box than other cloud storage apps in my experience.
  • Box could consider native document creation like Google Drive offers.
Box is great for file backup and cloud storage so you can rest assured your important docs are not going to be wiped off the planet. No matter your connection via mobile, I would suggest Box for smaller files. If you host video files, consider downloading the Box Sync app for desktops and access the large files locally on your computer.

We use Box for sharing files department only corporate wide. It's mostly used in the communications department, but is also used for project management and sharing with others in the corporation. It's also used to address a lot of issues, primarily it allows for revisiting in commenting, it's a lot more efficient than using email.
  • Box works particularly well with graphic design projects, and having multiple proofs.
  • It works well with communication, so you don't get trapped in reply all emails.
  • It's great to have everything in the cloud, so that the files are cesspool at all times, versus having them on the local server at the office which is hard to access.
  • Little things with cloud computing, it has its little quirks. The desktop app could be better, would love to see it more like Dropbox.
  • It's never fun to pay for these kinds of things, it would be nice if Box was a little cheaper for an organization.
  • It would be nice of Box [to have] it's own document editor like Google Drive, rather than having to do with proprietary Microsoft Word software.
Like a lot of cloud storage, it works really well for any kind of project where multiple people are working on the same file in a Word document. The commenting and social features really help with the project management side of things; I work in advertising and marketing and it does a great job in that field.

I currently use Box for both personal and business uses. I am currently the head of a Project Management Office and I use Box for a variety of items in that end. I provide project management templates and support documents via the Box account. This has made it easier that if someone is not on site (meaning they are either unable to VPN in or are unable to access the network drives for whatever reason) they are able to still access those templates they may need. Box also has higher security than other cloud based options so this has made it an easier decision as well.
  • Box is pretty standard when it comes to storage space and costs. Depending if you're going with a personal account or going with a business account, they are relatively in line with the market. Their Starter package is slightly more than Google Drive's entry level solution, however, Box is more secure so there is that trade off.
  • Security is becoming a big deal lately (Sony hack being an example) and is something you need in a cloud based solution. The thing I liked about Box was that my files weren't just encrypted while at rest (sitting on the main machine), but also while in transit (being synced). Other solutions don't provide both options mentioned or do it as well. There are far more secure solutions out there so if security is of the utmost, you may want to look into a service like Wuala.
  • A must in this day and age for any cloud based solution is the ability to sync across all of your devices and Box does this quite well. Whether you have a PC, Mac, Android, iPhone, tablet, Box is able to sync across all of them. This really brings convenience to the forefront and with the built in viewer, allows the ability to view what documents you want. The document isn't the best, but we'll touch base on that in the next section.
  • My biggest complaint with Box is easily their Box Sync application. They did come out with version 4 towards the beginning of 2014, but it was a step rather than a leap. The application (especially on PC and to a lesser extent, Android) is a memory hog. It takes large amount of resources and still has issues where it will lag or hang. Even with a higher end rig that I have at home, it still can constrain a system that has ample bandwidth.
  • Another issue I have that is with Box Sync, but not directly talking about the application's performance, is the internet speeds at which it syncs. I've looked into various ways to increase the download speeds of the application, but they are still very low when compared to other solutions out there. A Starter account has a 100GB limit for example and if you're setting up a new computer, or replacing an old one, get ready for the long haul. I've used download speeds ranging from 20Mbps to well above 10Gbps and the download rates are relatively the same. Downloading 100GB to a new main computer with a memory hog application was interesting, to say the least.
  • The last thing is really just a gripe more than anything else. It's nice they introduced the preview and even allow you to make some edits, but it would be nice to be able to directly change the files that you have. For example, you have a spreadsheet that you need to make a quick change to while you're out and about. Being able to jump into the app, open the file while in Box, make the change, and go about your day would be great. However, you are unable to effectively do that at this point. You'd need to open Box, download the file, edit the file (assuming you have Office Mobile or similar), upload the new change, and then go about your day. It adds needless steps and also requires the assumption you have an app that can make the edits you require.
The main thing I tell people is how secure do you need your files to be. That's really what separates Box from other solutions in their space. They aren't the most secure, but they aren't the least either. They are that good middle road solution. They are IT compliant in most cases and their admin options are more than adequate for a majority of businesses. If you need further security than what Box offers, then you'd be looking at a more specialized solution like a Wuala.

  • The collaborative features such as task management are great for keeping projects moving forward. The reporting capabilities are also helpful to ensure people are really reviewing the documents. These capabilities are useful in both sales and delivery.
  • The desktop integration is fine - about as good as the competitors - but it would be better if the synchronization mechanism worked for any specified directory rather than just one. It is not common, but we sometimes need to transfer files (e.g. virtual machines) which are larger than 2GB so that limit gets in our way.
Box is a reliable, easy to use, and comes with great capabilities for collaboration, reporting, and the potential for integration with Salesforce.com, Active Directory, and other systems. If you need those features, it is a great choice; however, if all you need is cloud-based file storage then you may want to look at cheaper options.
